80+ Ratings Explained

Bronze = ~82–85% efficient. Gold = ~87–90%. Platinum = ~90–92%. Titanium = ~92–94%. At high load, Gold vs Platinum saves only a few watts — Gold is the best value for most builds.

Modular vs Non-Modular

Fully modular lets you route only cables you use — cleaner airflow, easier builds. Non-modular is cheaper but leaves unused cables cluttering the case. Semi-modular is a practical middle ground.

Intel K-Series Power Draw

Intel i7/i9 K-series CPUs have a base TDP of 125W, but their "Maximum Turbo Power" reaches 250W+. During gaming they sustain 150–250W. This calculator uses realistic gaming power, not the base TDP.

PSU Lifespan

Quality PSUs from Seasonic, Corsair RM/HX, and be quiet! carry 7–10 year warranties and often last well beyond. Cheap budget PSUs from no-name brands are the most common cause of component damage from power spikes.
